While I felt disappointment at the moment the Blue Jays lost the playoffs to Kansas City, I believed in retrospect that the Blue Jays had a fantastic season in 2015.
I recalled that they were just under .500 after 101 games. The final 61 games of the season saw such a dramatic turnaround that few teams have ever experienced. I think this in itself was already a huge accomplishment.
The division series was also a success in itself, where the Jays had to come back from two games down.
Even the championship series was really close. Even though they were down 3-1, I really believed that they had a shot. For the record, the Royals were down 3-1 in 1985 against the Blue Jays and came back to win, so it was possible.
In any loss, there are bound to be "second-guessing" and "Monday quarterbacking". For example, perhaps they should have pulled out David Price earlier in Game 2 of the ALCS, or not put him in during Game 4 of the ALDS when the team was leading by a big margin. Who knows what would have happened if a different decision was made.
No one knows if and when the Jays will win again, maybe as soon as next year, or maybe not for a long time. But for me, and I hope for you as well, it was surely fun while it lasted!
